Weekly Photo Challenge: Reflection

Post A Week

This first photo is a reflection of the past. This was the Confederate Powder works, Civil War black powder plant in Augusta Georgia. Built in 7 months completed in Feb/March 1862. The Augusta,Georgia canal was mainly built for industrial use but shortly after built, was also use for transporting gun power to the Savannah River. The canal is connected on both ends to the Savannah River it is one of a few canals still used in the South.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Saturated

PostaWeek

DSC_1158 copy

I love the vivid colors of this boat. That’s what caught my eye and my camera’s eye. sunset black 001 copy

This sunset has a lot of color yet the earth is almost black. I felt this was a good saturation of colors.

English Phone Booth 001 copy

The old English Phone Booth was in Arizona next to the London Bridge on the Colorado River. Interesting place with a lot of boaters and swimmers in the water with food places galore.

Silk Flowers 001 copy

These silk flowers were at a booth on Alvera Street in Los Angeles.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Sea

Posta Week

If you lived in New Port Oregon you would get to see this every day. That would cheer me up for sure.  The weather is ideal, at least in the summer time, I’ve never been there in the winter.

Can you just imagine looking out at the Pacific Ocean sitting at your kitchen table with a cup of coffee while your waking up.

DSC00182 copy

How about walking along the beach in San Diego and watching the sun – set fire to the evening sky.while the warm breeze blows across your face. This is what it would look like.

DSC_0488 copy 2

If none of the other pictures enticed you maybe you would rather sit on the beach with family or friends around a camp fire and roast marshmallows. Watching the sun go down.

DSC_0556 copy

I have to say I have done all of the above except the second one. I did sit on a bench over looking that same place drinking a cup of coffee.  Enjoy life it is to short.

Weekly Photo Challenge: The Sign Says

PostaWeek/PostaDay

This is a sign that caught our eye while driving in New Orleans. WE laughed wondering if we did stop we would get a ticket or if we didn’t stop we would get a ticket. We took our chance and stopped.

No stopping sign in New Orleans copy

This sign wasn’t clear if the arrow was pointing to the RV Park or the doggie potty land  Having traveled in our RV for many years we know that it was just as important to know were the doggies place was in the park. This is only sign we ever ran across that let you know right off the bat were we had to walk our dog.

DSC00158

It is important that everyone knows that this is a duck crossing area. Just across the street is the Augusta,GA Green Jackets Baseball Park and signs saying Mercedes Benz parking only. I thought to my self – WOW these ducks have clout.

When Sunday morning my wife and I and  some friends went to the flea market in
San Diego when I saw this sign. I had to have a picture of this. When I was
taken the picture the man came walking towards me telling me, NO Pictures. To
late I already took it.This sign made me laugh because it is so true that it is funny. Today kids have it so made that they don’t know how good they have it.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Silhouette II

PostaWeek/PostaDay

This will be my second post this week. Why!  Because I just found them in my photo library.  I have always like these photos because of the reflections of the clouds in the lake with the trees silhouetted

I was putting some photos on my computer that I took this week end. Had a good week end ,discovered there is a lot to photograph here in Augusta especially this month. There is a lot of events going on Greek Festival, fair, air show, antique car show, and cross country or mountain bike races competition. the bike races are right in front on our motor home. Across the street!

Did I mention that we are staying in our friends driveway and right across the street is a beautiful park. We can look out are front window a see the little lake. There is almost something going on every weekend this time of the year.

These are the pictures I would like to post.
