Checking my photographs for a couple of pictures that speak to each other – This is what I came up with – hope you enjoy them.
While I was trying to get my camera out of the back of my truck, these two elk were banging heads. Just as I got ready to photograph them they quit. It looks like they were talking it over and walked away.
My favorite model is Cooter my dog. He appears to be, that is I have a lot of photos of him, from the time we first rescued off the streets when he was only a couple months old. Here he is going through the threshold of a pass through rock.
Threshold to China or just a gopher..
Granddaughters at the age of Four “4” and Eight “8” the threshold of life and what a better way to start it in Disney World. Watching a parade and seeing all the Disney characters coming down the street.
The “Guardian” at the threshold of one of the greatest wonders of the world. Guardian is the name I gave this rock that overlooks the Grand Canyon. When I took this picture I was thinking that it looked like a statue over looking the canyon that the makers of the canyon put it there.
These people are on the threshold of rebuilding their life after Hurricane Katrina in Biloxi Mississippi.
There are many definitions of threshold and these are just a few of them.
When my wife and I got our first motor home, we would spent just about three weekend a month down by the ocean. My wife would work four days a week and ten hours a day 4/10’s. I would take the motor home down to the beach on Thursday morning and park it, then come back home. When she would get off of work we would loads up the dogs and us ,plus what ever else we needed – head for the beach. We would stay until Sunday afternoon then head for home ,which was only 45 miles away. We would do that almost three out of four week ends a month. We would love to watch the dolphins putting on a show for us or everyone else that was watching. The pelicans always fascinated me because they would always fly in formation. I would wonder how they came to the decision to who would lead the flock. The sea gulls would fly back and forth depending if someone was feeding them. They weren’t as much fun to watch as the pelicans or the dolphins. A couple of times we would saw a whale come by but he would be so far out that mainly all we could see was him spouting water. I don’t blame him, I spit that salty water out too.
I just loaded the parrot in for the look down part of this challenge and because he’s sharp in all of his grandeur.
Everyone just getting in the water without a worry in the world.
I love this photo of my granddaughter swimming with the dolphin thinking this is the coolest thing ever. This was on her 11th birthday, she calls her million dollar birthday. If you haven’t noticed , I love my Granddaughter.
My wife wanted to go and spend a few days in the snow. We had some friends working and staying at Geneva On The Lake , that’s about 1000 yards off Lake Erie. It was February and it was snowing up there, so we went. There was no running water but my friend had a couple of plastic drums and a pump in the back of his pick-up and that is how we got fresh water while we were there. A few days was all we were going to stay. The first night we ended up with a half inch of ice all the way down the right side of our motor home, the water line froze. The next morning we put a small electric heater in the bay were the water line was frozen ,it thawed out in a few hours. That night it snowed and the next night and the next night. We got to stay there for 2 1/2 weeks before the roads were cleared off. It was an experience to remember.
This is are photos from that trip. It definitely was pretty and my dog had fun hopping through the snow.
This is a photo that I took several years ago . While on the road we decided to stop at the Cabelas Sport Goods Store in Kearney,Nebraska. I had heard of this store and always wanted to visit one. I was in such an excited state by time we arrived that my camera was buzzing like an amateur hornets nest. Threw out most of all that I learned in photo classes and started clicking away. Shortly after going into the store I regained my senses and began photographing like I knew what I was doing. The store was huge with plenty of photographic possibilities, which I took advantage of.
The fighting elks statue at the front of the store was the first think I saw and photographed.
This stunning horse and cowboy was in front of the capital building in Cheyenne,WY. Cheyenne is a beautiful city, We had a great time exploring while we were there. We went there the visit the Elks Lodge because I heard that it was very old, being an Elks Member I wanted to see it. We spent close to 4 weeks in Cheyenne. Visited The Rocky Mountain National Park, Laramie,WY and Wyoming state pumpkin weigh in competition. If I knew ahead a time I was going to take this picture I would have brought my pressure washer and tidied up this horse and ryder.
We came across Abe in a rest area or tourist area. We were on our way back from Laramie going to our motor home in Cheyenne,WY, but I don’t exactly remember were. I do remember that my Dog didn’t like him and wouldn’t stop barking. We tried to show him it was okay but he still barked.
