My room today is a one room do it all because it is in our motor home. Are room acts as a gathering place to socialize – watch TV-and relax.

To sleep and to eat, which most of the cooking and eating was outside.

With so many guys in the room , it got kind of cluttered

These pictures were taken during an archery competition which my wife and I went on several shoots. Our gift to the boys was to give them a dry place to sleep and not have to eat all there meals at a diner. We cooked and cooked , fed them bacon, eggs, biscuits for breakfast and for lunch it was usually a couple of Boston butts That would be around four o’clock. The guys normally did not have anything to eat from breakfast until 4:00PM.  The boys paid for food all fees we just paid for fuel, I think they even gave us money for that.

The guy in red is my wife’s son, also are grandson is among them.

It also subs as a dog house and their toys.

You can see that my wife and I have had a few dogs over the years,all of them rescued. It wasn’t until after we had them several years that they had health problems. We loved them and they loved us, we gave them probably the best years of their lives. They shared our house and the room that I show in the above pictures.

Weekly Photo Challenge: On the Move

Doing this post gave me an insight of how blessed I  have been the past many years. All of these photos I have done, maybe not in the exact – plane ,hot air balloon, train, river paddle boat, bike race, but it sure was the same motor coach.

Yes I had many occasion to fly in air planes In the Navy and from Los angles to Savannah  two or three times a year.

I got to fly in a hot air balloon in a festival in Albuquerque, NM

I rode this train in Bush Gardens in Tampa,FL

I didn’t ride this paddle boat but I rode the one in Disney Land in Anaheim, California and the paddle boat in Disney World in Orlando,Florida.

 

I did ride in a couple of bike races in California.

If you have been following my blog then you probably know that this is our motor coach that we have been traveling around the United States with.

Yes we have pretty blessed to have done a lot of things and been to a lot of places,met a lot of nice people and made many friends.

One time we spent a week or two in a forestry camp ground on the North side of Mt Lassen National Park. There is a little stream there and I went fishing and met fellow fisherman, struck up a conversation seemed to hit it off. Every day that we were in the park we would meet up and swap fish stories.. One day a fish that I caught I had asked him if he wanted it, He said no, he was saving room in his freezer for the big one that he was going to catch. I replied that I had plenty of room in my freezer when I eat it I’ll tell everyone you caught it.  LOL

Here are two people sitting in the best two people seat in the Grand Canyon checking out the view from their vantage point. Wait a minute that is what I said in the above picture. The truth is that I know photos have more character when there is people in the photograph. I never would have thought I would see anyone sitting on the edge of the Grand Canyon but to see the same thing twice in one day blew me away.

I shot a waterfalls in Maui several years ago ,when I was barely starting photography, I entered it into the Los Angeles County Fair and it got an honorable mention. I was told by my instructor that if I had had a person in the photo it would have taken first place in not the Grand Champion. I never forgot that!

My wife and I went to watch our granddaughter do her competition cheer. This is not her group – I had trouble with my camera.

This young lady got to swim and play with the whales. She’s on top of the world  and loves her job.

I love this photo with two old buzzards sitting on top of a chimney.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Threshold

My favorite model is Cooter my dog. He appears to be, that is I have a lot of photos of him, from the time we first rescued off the streets when he was only a couple months old. Here he is going through the threshold of a pass through rock.

Threshold to China or just a gopher..

Granddaughters at the age of Four “4” and Eight “8” the threshold of life and what a better way to start it in Disney World. Watching a parade and seeing all the Disney characters coming down the street.

The “Guardian” at the threshold of one of the greatest wonders of the world.  Guardian is the name I gave this rock that overlooks the Grand Canyon. When I took this picture I was thinking that it looked like a statue over looking the canyon that the makers of the canyon put it there.

These people are on the threshold of rebuilding their life after Hurricane Katrina in Biloxi Mississippi.

There are many definitions of threshold and these are just a few of them.

Here’s my granddaughters checking out what  a fish sees when in an aquarium.

Heh, grandpa this is pretty cool.

Grandpa, hurry up we can’t hold our breath much longer.

It is scary enough photographing the belly of one sting ray and holding your breath and worrying about getting your camera wet- but a whole flock – gaggle – swarm  how about a bunch.

Don’t you just love photography. This is better than Star Wars.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Foreshadow

Right after a storm. I bet the people that were caught in this storm were glad to see the rainbow as a sign that the storm was over.

Just before a storm.  I was in this storm and there was lighting and rain. I didn’t expect a storm of this magnitude, nor did I expect the storm in the first place. I was just out with the family playing miniature golf, when all of a sudden these clouds rolled in and a little while later boom the storm hit..

I looked up the word foreshadow and the dictionary gave me this insight.:be warning of: to indicate or suggest something, usually something unpleasant, that is going to happen.

So I felt that this fit the challenge.  I’m sure that if this person had been fore warned that this accident was going to happen – he would have chosen a different route.

Here again how would this person circumvent this disaster, unless he/she had an inkling that there truck would catch fire at this given time.

So you see there are different ways to interpret the challenge word for the week “Foreshadow”  In my limited estimation.

A Word A Week Challenge–Castle

While driving south on US-1 on the coast of Florida, my wife and I spotted this castle. You know I just had the get a pictures of it. Now I’m glad I did!

Every time I see the M&M commercial I think of this photo I took at the M&M Store in Orlando,Florida. We took are granddaughter and her school friend  down to Orlando to go to Disney World and Discovery Cove [to swim with the dolphins]. While there we went to the M&M Store were I shot this picture.

In the M&M commercial on TV the M&M character Says,” I’ll   do most anything but I won’t do that”,  While they are stuffing him in an oven.

So maybe that is what I’m going to name this photo – I won’t do that.

Everything M&M Too many choices!

This is my wife helping the girls make up there mind. So many choices – What to do?

While the girls were busy with stuffed toys I was busy looking at NASCAR replicas. Mainly Kyle Bush #18 of course that is the only car that M&M sponsors.

It was a delightful day. Just had to grab one more picture before we left.
